Added Uniswap coin. I have been trading with UNI, BTC and BNB and now only BTC and UNI so far. I’m looking to add back ETH and BNB soon.

Thanks for sharing your results P.Warmerdam

I recommend you to create your own thread, so we don’t mix results of different persons / variants.

You could put the title: “Warmerdam SG Mutation C1 Results” for example, and it would be something like this:

https://gunbot.shop/forum/topic/pete_winner-sg-mutation-d2-results/
For me an intresting thing about strategies is the fact if they can manage a dip of 15% or 25 % . Therefore i am calculating with about > 10 times a DCA.
Recently (from March 21 to March 26) BTC had a big drop, like 12%, and ETH dropped like 14% too. If I remember good, the highest DCA I saw is 6 or 7.  I have just noticed that BNB dropped from 275 to 225, that’s like 18% drop, and the bot handled it with 6 DCA. You can check it in the last pic of this post:

https://gunbot.shop/forum/topic/aitor-sg-mutation-x-results/#post-9511

Also note that:

1- Continuous Trading (CT) helps to reach to deeper DCAs as it has 2 effects:

a) It sells with partial profit when the price is below break even point. This way we can get some some extra base coins.

b) Sometimes after a CT sell, the price keeps dropping and we move to next DCA. Example, we reach to DCA 3 and we buy 100, then CT sells 50 with profit and then we buy 100 in DCA 4. In this case We have spent only 50 in DCA 3 instead of 100, so we are leaving more funds for deeper DCAs.

You can get more info about CT behavior in this thread:

https://gunbot.shop/forum/topic/what-is-continuous-trading-ct-and-how-does-it-work/

2- Each DCA level triggers at a different point. For example, imagine DCA 1 triggers when price falls 0.25% below last buying point, DCA 2 triggers 0.35% below DCA 1, DCA 3 triggers 0.5% below DCA 2… This is just an example with fake numbers but I guess you got the concept. If DCA 5 triggers when price dropped 10%, it doesn’t mean DCA 10 will trigger when price dropped  20% as the distance between each DCA increases compared to the previous DCA. numbers are not real

Let’s see some examples of CT in action:

In the first yellow rectagle ww can see a very good move:

1- CT starts in DCA 4, and it sells 50% of DCA 4 amount with profit. Then, using the 50% amount sold, it buys again at slighly better price and sells it with profit again. Once again it buys again at slighly better price and sells it with profit. Finally it buys again that 50%. Summarizing, it made 3 profitable trades and improved DCA 4 purchase as it bought 50% at a better price that the original buy.

2- In the second rectable we can see CT in action again. It sells with profit (only taking latest DCA into account, of course) and buys at simular price again.

Then it keeps doing more profitable trades instead of waiting for the price to correct.

In the pic above, in the first yellow rectangle, we can see CT making a profitable trade. In the second rectangle it buys again using the amount sold (50% of latest DCA), and sells again with profit and buys again with slightly better price. As you can see it keeps DCAing and getting slightly profitable trades that helps lowering the BE point

Until now we have seen positive effects of running CT, but is there any negative effect. Yes, there is, and the orange rectangle you can see in the pic above can help us to explain it. Ok, suppose you buy a coin for 300$, then you buy it for 200$ and finally you buy it for 100$.  The average price in this case is 200.  Now let’s suppose we sold 50% of of latest purchase for 110. It is a partial profit (taking into account only the 100$ purchase). In this scenario our Break Even point is higher than it was before appying CT. Why? Because now we have a purchase for 300, other one for 200 and 50% purchase for 100. In other words, our BE point is worse because we have got rid of 50% of the coins we purchased with cheapest price.

I made the numbers in one case and it needed 3 CT sells to improve “normal” BE point with no CT. Obviously this could vary, and depending on the trades, it could be 2 or 4 trades the amount needed to “compensate”.

Getting back to the latest image, CT made 2 trades and BE point was slightly higher that the original BE, so it wasn’t able to sell, get rid of the bag, and start a new cycle.

So, under some circumstances CT is better, but in cases like CT making 1 trade and then raising again, could lead to the bot not being able to average down so fast.

In my opinion, overall positive effects are higher than negative effects, so I keep running CT. On another note, it can be configured. By default value is 0.5, and this means that if CT starts, and you set it to 0,5 the bot will use 50% of the latest DCA sell, and in the case you set it to 0.8, it will use 80% of latest DCA.

Seeing that BNB reached to it’s all-time high and ETH was close to it, I decided to pause those pairs for a while and decide later what to do. So far I changed TL from 100 to 300 (assigning all the funds to BTC). I would like to add them back soon as they are more volatile than BTC and volatility is usually tied to profitability when running this strategy. It’s just I’m not a big fan of buying something while it’s in his all-time high price.

This said, let’s take a look at Binance PNL:

This error is caused by a connection drop. Maybe your friend has an unstable connection? If that’s the case I recommend him to run the bot on a VPS. For more info about VPS, check points 10 and 11:

It sounds like Windows automatic restart after updating. If you want to avoid this behavior, follow these steps:

1. Click on the “Start” button and type
gpedit.msc
press Enter.
2. In the Local Group Policy Editor, go to
Computer Configuration ->
->Administrative Templates->
-> Windows Components->
-> Windows Update
3. Double-click on “No auto-restart with automatic installations of scheduled updates”.
4. Select “Enabled”, and then click “OK”.
5. Close the local group policy editor.

Hope this helps

Now it’s possible to upload the pic directly from our computer instead of putting the url of the pic.

Just click on the button you can see in the image above and choose the pic you want to post from your hard disk. I hope this makes things easier.

I have set “Stop after next sale” to true for USDT-ETH as it’s quite close to its all-time high and from December to February made almost 4x. This parameter will make the bot to stop buying ETH after next sale. Maybe it can keep going up, but I don’t think the risk / reward is worth it for me at this moment. I will keep an eye on it and will add ETH back when I feel it’s a better time.

Of course this is not an advise for anyone, I’m not an expert trader and I’m not here to tell anyone what to do with his money. I just want to report my results and my moves with the highest detail possible.

As explained in the rules, we are looking for neutral results, without human intervention, but these kind of things (stopping a pair that made 3x in 2 days, or a pair that is very close to its all-time high after a recent huge raise) should be considered, in my opinion, basic maintenance.

By the way, Javier wrote “SG Strategy Y” because we, the admins, don’t want to disclose the name of the variant of SG Mutation we are running because we don’t want to influence others choosing their favorite variant. Once we move to the next phase, we will disclose it, so everyone in the group will have the information.

Before moving to phase 3, when we will decide how to improve current variants, I will remove some people from the group. I’m talking about people who joined but seems to not be interested, not even answering or trying any variant. So we will move to final phases with people who are really interested in the project and active.
I cant get Binance P&L to give me a reading, it says no data
Binance PNL is shown with delay. For example, Monday PNL starts to appear at 4:00 AM (CET time) Tuesday aprox.
Gunbot P&L, also no data
The version we are running right now, v21.6.2 has an issue with PNL reports. I’m going to update today to v21.7.7 because I have good feedbacks about it and it has PNL fixed, and once I confirm it, I will let you all know in the case you want to update to v21.7.7.
Here are a few screen shots of the trades, unsure if the pics will work as I am not sure how to attach them.
I have just created this quick tutorial on how to attach pics to a post:

https://gunbot.shop/forum/topic/how-to-upload-pics-for-sharing-reports-and-results/

Two more things:

1- Please don’t post especific settings of the variants, as this is a public forum and it’s a very good tool to share our results and keep a record, but the idea is to keep our discussion about especific settings and improvements in our private group.

2- If you want to report your results, it would be nice to create an especific post for it, like I did with this one:

https://gunbot.shop/forum/topic/aitor-sg-mutation-x-results/

In your case it would be something like “Mickhowlett SG Mutation D2 results”
